You will be glad to know that a Bafta-winning director-writer will be writing an episode of Doctor Who’s upcoming season. The above said master of words is none other than Richard Curtis. Richard’s noteworthy accomplishments include his pen work for Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Love Actually.

Richard mentioned his excitement on writing for a Doctor Who series with following words, “It’s tremendously good fun and a treat for my children - These days, the things you can watch together as a family are much fewer so when you get something like Doctor Who or The X Factor, it is such a pleasure to sit down as a family,”

He seems to be on cloud nine. It’s very natural as well. Who would not love to correlate oneself with a monumental sci-fi series such as Doctor Who? Now Richard has one more opportunity to associate his name with an extraordinary TV show. We wish him best of luck to write something that will blow the audience off its feet.

Being a great fan of Doctor Who, Richard could not stop himself from saying a few words on time travel. This is what he had to say, “I am very interested in time travel for some reason or other. Maybe it’s a desire to get out of being old. Sometimes you do just love the idea that you could go back in time and change things.”

Richard you seem to be extremely interested in this concept. Now, we are almost sure you are going to come up with something unique, something out of the ordinary. Lets wait and watch how the episode of Doctor Who written by him shapes up when it actually gets aired.

There is still some time to go before airing of forthcoming season of Doctor Who. Let’s hope the production process is wrapped up as soon as possible, so that we are intimated regarding the release dates.

Hey guyz, lemme share some history with you!

Holy shit! I hated the subject of History when I was made to read and learn it. But, don’t worry the historical facts of this spin-off will definitely satisfy your hunger for knowing the whole story behind the creation of Sarah Jane Adventures! I feel like getting fainted when I hear the word History because I wasn’t the outstanding student of the class instead I was the student who was punished always to stand outside the class! I never ever remembered the dates and years of World Wars, so was always abused, scolded and punished by my school teachers! Ahhhh…..

Anyways, the History of this show always kindled a fire of enthusiasm in me to know more and more! Yep, so lemme now pull the cat out of the bag for you!

When children’s BBC expressed its new idea of creating a spin-off of Doctor Who in 2006, they started off with the idea of creating it as a drama based on the young Doctor Who but somehow that idea got replaced. Russell T Davies, the executive producer found that idea somewhat non-attractive so he gave the idea of making the spin-off on the Doctor’s former companion.

The interesting piece of fact is that the Doctor Who fans and even the general public voted Sarah as the most popular companion of the doctor. This further justifies the point of Davies who insisted on casting Sarah as the main star in the spin-off which is now known and cherished by the people as Sarah Jane Adventures.

SJA has won 2 nominations so far.  Once for a British Academy Children’s Award in 2008 in the drama category and once for a BAFTA Cymru in children’s drama category.

We are a free society with freedom to pick what we like without inflicting any emotional, moral and physical injury on anyone because of our actions. This view was strongly put forward by John Barrowman who has been permanent part of Doctor Who since its season 9 and is playing the character of Captain Jack Harness. John Barrowman, an open gay himself seemed taken aback after Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester in the U.K., urged gays to “repent and be changed”. He seemed perturbed after breakout of this statement by a famous public personality. He lashed back with harsh words against this outdated thinking by declaring that any high-ranking church official who agrees with this narrow-minded viewpoint is infact-damaging Christianity itself.

This actor on Doctor Who TV show vent out his outrage by saying, “From a gay man, weren’t the actions of Jesus Christ supposed to be about compassion and love and understanding? And here you have a man who is supposed to be teaching that and he is teaching bigotry. I think more gay men would go to church if the teachers were not as bigoted as they are. Now, I’m not saying all Christians believe like that, because there’s a lot out there who don’t.”

John Barrowman could not stop himself as he further said, “But these kind of men and women who are preaching that, they are going to lose their congregation because mums and dads are going to realize they have gay siblings - or children or family members who are gay - and they are not evil. Stop talking rubbish.”

I would be great that all of us become bold like this actor of Doctor Who TV show and openly criticize any act or statement that is against the norms of a modern and free society. John Barrowman must be backed by unprecedented support by huge fan following of Doctor Who television series. Unity is strength and when millions of voices combine to promote a great cause, petty and negative viewpoints are burdened and erased by the mounting pressure.

Hey people! The award season has just started and our favorite science fiction show Doctor Who has bagged its first awards of the year. The series shone at the BAFTA Awards, winning two BAFTA Craft Awards and four BAFTA Cymru Awards.

So as the cast and crew celebrate the winning of awards, let us also congratulate the entire team for creating such a fabulous show, which is undoubtedly the best amongst all the science fiction shows being aired currently.

I know you must be eager to know who won the awards for Doctor Who and under what category. So given below are the details of the awards that the show received for the excellently created Season 4.

Philip Kloss won the Editing: Fiction/Entertainment of the BAFTA Craft Award for the episode named Midnight.

The Mill won the BAFTA Craft Award for Visual Effects, for the work the studio had done to create the visual effects in the episode named The Fires of Pompeii.

Russell T Davies won the BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Screenwriter, for writing the screenplay of the episode named Midnight.

Julian Howarth, Paul McFadden, Paul Jefferies & Tim Ricketts shared the BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Sound, for their work in the episode named Midnight.

Philip Kloss won the BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Editing for his work in the episode named Midnight.

Euros Lyn won the BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Director: Film/Drama, for directing the episode named Silence in the Library.

The award ceremonies took place at two different venues, on the same night that is 17^th May, 2009. While the BAFTA Craft Awards ceremony was held in Hilton Park Lane in London, the BAFTA Cymru Awards ceremony was held at Donald Gordon Theatre at the Wales Millennium Centre. The former ceremony was hosted by Alexander Armstrong, while Gethin Jones hosted the latter ceremony.

It has been a known fact that Doctor Who has a superb team of technicians, whose hard work comes across as we watch each new fascinating episode of the show. The fact that the series is given the above mentioned awards only reinforces this reality. Although we are all delighted about the winners getting the much deserved recognition, we also believe that the entire team of Doctor Who deserves to be honored for their fantastic work.

Hey friends! Recently, while helping in cleaning a pond in Beulieu, Hampshire, UK, a man named Marc Oakland, came across something related to the show Doctor Who. And can you guess what it was? Well let me tell you, it was the head of a Dalek who is Dr. Who’s enemy on the show. Seemingly, some parts of the show had been filmed in the area in the 1980’s and it was probably during that time that the head was left there. However, according to another theory, this Dalek probably turned up somewhere, and met a slow death in an undignified manner at the bottom of the pond. Whatever be the case, the fact remains that it is a relic of the show. This unusual find has left people guessing what next thing will be found from wetlands and marshes. Probably, there might be machines that have managed to survive the Time War and have been building their own secret army right there under our very noses. But we don’t have to worry much as I am sure that Doctor Who will definitely have a solution for any such problem. So let’s just trust the good old Doctor to deal with any aliens and warring machines threatening our planet.

Doctor Who tv show, which is currently airing its Season 4, after its revival in 2005, has been one of the oldest science fiction series in the history of American television, which has entertained people across generations. This excellent series about a Doctor, whose adventures make him travel not only through space and time but also force him into all sorts of end of the world scenarios, from which he brilliantly finds a way out. Doctor Who has an extremely cutting edge philosophy for non-violence and the manner in which it has presented the size of the universe, of time, the fate of humanity is just astounding. This all time great science fiction show has moved from cheap costumes and effects to great CGI and has surely proved itself to be the show that is definitely worth watching. And it is not only the special effects that make the show great, all the characters and the overall concept of the show have played a major part in the huge success of Doctor Who!

Hey people! With the advent of New Year the mystery whether David Tennant would continue to be a part of Doctor Who has also been solved. At the very beginning of the New Year, BBC officially announced that David Tennant will be replaced on show in the fifth series. It also announced the name of the actor who will be replacing the actor on the much popular and longest running science fiction series called Doctor Who. Well after much speculation and many names being fed to the rumor mill, the name that finally emerged is that of actor Matt Smith. Matt will be seen playing the role of the eleventh Time Lord in the fifth series of Doctor Who which is to be aired in 2010, after David leaves the series at the end of 2009. Although BBC had earlier denied any reports of replacing David, it seems that David has finally made up his mind and the team at BBC failed to convince him to think otherwise.

Reportedly, Matt Smith is quite excited about his new role and he takes it as a challenge to portray a legendary character on a show that has been entertaining many generations. He has, reportedly, also said that he would try to learn from the standards set by his predecessor who has made the image of Doctor Who synonymous with his own image brilliantly with grace, talent and persistent dedication and prays that he is able to do justice to the role and win the hearts of the audiences like his predecessor. Well, we all know that it is quite challenging to play Doctor Who as he has to play many roles which include being old and young, a boffin and an action hero, and a cheeky schoolboy and the wise old man of the universe at the same time. Although 2010 is still far away, we are waiting for the new adventures with a new Time Lord to unfold before us.
