Richard’s noteworthy accomplishments include his pen work for Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Love Actually.

Richard mentioned his excitement on writing for a Doctor Who series with following words, “It’s tremendously good fun and a treat for my children - These days, the things you can watch together as a family are much fewer so when you get something like Doctor Who or The X Factor, it is such a pleasure to sit down as a family,”

He seems to be on cloud nine. It’s very natural as well. Who would not love to correlate oneself with a monumental sci-fi series such as Doctor Who? Now Richard has one more opportunity to associate his name with an extraordinary TV show. We wish him best of luck to write something that will blow the audience off its feet.

Being a great fan of Doctor Who, Richard could not stop himself from saying a few words on time travel. This is what he had to say, “I am very interested in time travel for some reason or other. Maybe it’s a desire to get out of being old. Sometimes you do just love the idea that you could go back in time and change things.”

Hey guyz, lemme share some history with you!

Holy shit! I hated the subject of History when I was made to read and learn it. But, don’t worry the historical facts of this spin-off will definitely satisfy your hunger for knowing the whole story behind the creation of Sarah Jane Adventures! I feel like getting fainted when I hear the word History because I wasn’t the outstanding student of the class instead I was the student who was punished always to stand outside the class! I never ever remembered the dates and years of World Wars, so was always abused, scolded and punished by my school teachers! Ahhhh…..

Anyways, the History of this show always kindled a fire of enthusiasm in me to know more and more! Yep, so lemme now pull the cat out of the bag for you!

When children’s BBC expressed its new idea of creating a spin-off of Doctor Who in 2006, they started off with the idea of creating it as a drama based on the young Doctor Who but somehow that idea got replaced. Russell T Davies, the executive producer found that idea somewhat non-attractive so he gave the idea of making the spin-off on the Doctor’s former companion.

The interesting piece of fact is that the Doctor Who fans and even the general public voted Sarah as the most popular companion of the doctor. This further justifies the point of Davies who insisted on casting Sarah as the main star in the spin-off which is now known and cherished by the people as Sarah Jane Adventures.

SJA has won 2 nominations so far.  Once for a British Academy Children’s Award in 2008 in the drama category and once for a BAFTA Cymru in children’s drama category.

Last month, a lorry was just going to hit her, while she was taking her baby out of the car. You don’t believe me? See the pictures. Just look how close they were to each other. If I had been on her place, I have sued the lorry driver. Being her back on the coming traffic, she was not able to watch it and it’s the duty of the driver to drive leaving safe space. Surely, if he is driving so much negligently at day time, how he must be driving during night hours?

Driving license to such persons should not be issued and in case the government rules are lenient for issuing license, then negligent drivers should be caught, put into jail and their licenses should be cancelled. It’s becoming quite a normal thing to such drivers these days, which are responsible for severe accidents. They not only push a person into mouth of death but also make their family lifeless. New rules and laws should be introduced which should keep them on the right track.
I pray this month should be good for birthday girl. Don’t you know? She is going to turn 27th on 22nd September, 2009. I give her my best wishes and may god bless her with all the success, she deserves…. Happy Birthday!

Hey people! With the advent of New Year the mystery whether David Tennant would continue to be a part of Doctor Who has also been solved. At the very beginning of the New Year, BBC officially announced that David Tennant will be replaced on show in the fifth series. It also announced the name of the actor who will be replacing the actor on the much popular and longest running science fiction series called Doctor Who. Well after much speculation and many names being fed to the rumor mill, the name that finally emerged is that of actor Matt Smith. Matt will be seen playing the role of the eleventh Time Lord in the fifth series of Doctor Who which is to be aired in 2010, after David leaves the series at the end of 2009. Although BBC had earlier denied any reports of replacing David, it seems that David has finally made up his mind and the team at BBC failed to convince him to think otherwise.

Reportedly, Matt Smith is quite excited about his new role and he takes it as a challenge to portray a legendary character on a show that has been entertaining many generations. He has, reportedly, also said that he would try to learn from the standards set by his predecessor who has made the image of Doctor Who synonymous with his own image brilliantly with grace, talent and persistent dedication and prays that he is able to do justice to the role and win the hearts of the audiences like his predecessor. Well, we all know that it is quite challenging to play Doctor Who as he has to play many roles which include being old and young, a boffin and an action hero, and a cheeky schoolboy and the wise old man of the universe at the same time. Although 2010 is still far away, we are waiting for the new adventures with a new Time Lord to unfold before us.

Guess what’s the buzz these days?

The BBC has categorically rubbished and denied all the rumors regarding the replacement of David Tennant.
Yes, it’s true. Ever since David Tennant had announced his decision to quit Doctor Who, the rumor mill has been buzzing about who would be the eleventh Doctor on the popular sci- fi TV show. But since past few days the name of Colin Salmon, the James Bond star is doing the rounds as the potential candidate. The British Newspaper ‘The Sun’ had first reported of this news that Salmon, who also had previously appeared on the show as Dr. Moon would be the replacement for Tennant.

I read somewhere that a BBC spokesperson, dispelling these reports has said “a decision [about Tennant's replacement] won’t be made until way into next year.”

Now this is some piece of news. I also heard from my friend that Tom Ellis, Joanna Lumley, Lenny Henry,

Stephen Fry and Billie Piper are also in the race for this coveted post of the 11th Time Lord.

Long List Uh!!! Duh!!!

But frankly speaking, I find the idea of David Tennant leaving from Doctor Who [He had joined the show in 2005] as pretty much interesting. For those who have forgotten, let me refresh up your memory. David had bid adieu to the show through a live video message at the National Television Awards this year and had said

“When Doctor Who returns in 2010, it won’t be with me.” Unique idea isn’t it??

“I’m still the Doctor all next year but when the time finally comes I’ll be honored to hand on the best job in the world to the next lucky git–whoever that may be,” He had said further.

The BBC later informed everyone that David “will continue to play The Doctor in the four specials that will make up the 2009 series, before a new Doctor takes over for Series 5.”

So it is now known that David Tennant would definitely appear in the Doctor Who’s Christmas special show this month.

But what about the future??? Any guesses anyone on who would be our 11th Time Lord???

The end is not here. “Doctor Who” is already on “Guinness World Records” for being the longest running science fiction series in television history. Now this is going to remain there for long. “Doctor Who” is coming back with series five, though with a new doc, as David Tennant is going to appear in four upcoming “Specials” only. This is confirmed now that the series will air in 2010. I know this is a long wait, but no worries guys. After all we are at the right destination, where we can get all its episodes and even specials. I usually come here to watch the old Doctors. This is fun watching your favorite series in old style of sixties.

One interesting fact about this series is that it made all those actors playing these Docs, popular among kids. Though, all the actors who have played the character till now, have remained well established actors of big and small screen. Everybody has confessed in media that the love they have got after playing this character of ‘Doctor’ is just incomparable.

Sometimes I wonder that, the series which was popular in the sixties is still capable of touching hearts. I am myself an example of that. I am desperately waiting for another part of the series to come. Nonetheless, I can die for watching its previous parts as well. Thank God! This is not ending so soon.

I am equally excited for its 2009-2010 “Specials”. In the last aired season, the tenth doc was not shown regenerating into the eleventh one. In fact, he remained in the same form after redirecting all of his energies into previously severed hand. Later on, the part Time Lord version of the Doctor comes into existence. I don’t know about you guys, but I am very confused about whatever happened to him.

I am now curious to watch those “Specials” to know, what exactly happens to the tenth Doc? Secondly, when David is not coming in the next series, then most probably the eleventh Doc will emerge. This won’t suit the course that some other actor will play his role of tenth Doc. Let’s see, how the tenth Doc moves towards his end. Will he do something big before regeneration? Will there be any big threat to the Earth? Ah, my mind is stuck with so many questions. Bring it on, at the earliest. I can’t wrack my brains more for this.

Till then it’s better for me to watch the last episode once again. May be this time I can solve the puzzle. What about you? Leave a thread!

Here is no question about, whether you are fan of “Doctor Who” or not. Everybody, who knows about this show, is surely a fan of this series. Now my question is, which one is your favorite Doctor out of the long list of ten Docs? Though, the storyline always remained the same in every season and in every Doctor Who series, the only difference was about the traits of new Doctors. Some docs was funny, some serious and somebody extremely innovative. Every Doc had his own character. I found one of them as the most entertaining. I have watched all the previous “Doctor Who” series, and believe me the characters of sixties are amazing.

In fact, I loved the second doctor, the cosmic hobo. I was not even born, when this season was aired. You can’t imagine the extent of my happiness, when I found it and watched it. Thanks to this site that I got to watch all those episodes otherwise, I would have been left with the regret why I wasn’t born in sixties. I loved his appearance, his acting, his expressions, his shrewdness, his tactics and what not? He’s such an adorable character. He usually acts like a fool, in front of his enemies, so that they underestimate him. Then at the right moment, he hits the nail right on the head. Patrick Troughton played the part. I read somewhere that he was in the character with such intensity that he was named as the joker of the set.

He always took interest in improving his character and making it more impressive by adding new expressions and acts. Unfortunately, the great actor died in 1987 at the age of 67. He will be remembered for playing this character forever. He will always live in kids’ hearts as a superhero. I remember, somewhere in a toy store, I have seen a toy of his appearance as Doctor. At that time, I didn’t know that it is a “Doctor Who” character. See if this is in stores, then definitely it’s in demand and kids love him.

I am not aware of any other such series, which can maintain it impact for decades. This can be only and only “Doctor Who”. Let’s pay tribute to the late actors who played this glorious part, by having another look at their work.
